We had such a great crowd and a fabulous atmosphere for Laura and Chris’s wedding at Tithe Barn near Bolton Abbey. We started off with the girls at a lovely country lodge near Gargrave, whilst the boys got ready near to the church and popped by the local pub for a relaxing pint before the ceremony. When I arrived at the lodge the girls were in great spirits having their hair and makeup done, drinking some bubbles and chatting about the day ahead. Once Laura was ready to go we set up a reveal for her Dad and his response was one of the best I have ever seen! He was clearly very proud of Laura!
The girls travelled in style via classic cars to the ceremony at St Stephen’s Church in Skipton where all the guests were arriving for the big day. The ceremony went without a hitch. Laura looked stunning walking up the aisle with her Dad and both the bride and groom were clearly so moved to see each other. The couple walked out to much applause followed by many hugs and congratulations. We then set up one of the longest confetti lines and the crowd really enjoyed showering the couple!
It was then time for the journey to Tithe Barn for the wedding reception. This venue is a stunning rustic barn set in the grounds of the Bolton Abbey Estate surrounded by some gorgeous landscapes. We took the opportunity whilst it was still light to get some photographs of Laura and Chris around the venue. The wind had picked up a bit and at one point Laura’s veil was ripped off her head and was seen hovering above the barn, much to everyone hilarity! It did at some point come back down to earth!
Soon it was time to sit down for the dinner. The speeches went really well being both very funny and heartfelt and everyone throughly enjoyed the chef hats and aprons. The meal ended just in time for everyone to see the firework display which was taking place at Bolton Abbey in the valley below. There was a perfect view of the display from the Barn’s terrace. Chris and Laura were not planning to do a first dance but I managed to get a few sneaky pictures of them dancing together under the chandeliers which was a great finish to the evening.
This wedding was a perfect day and went without a hitch. Although I was told by Laura afterwards that Chris lost the key to their lodge where they were staying for their wedding night and they had to find a hotel room. It turned out later someone had taken Chris’s jacket by mistake! This didn’t seem to bother them though, they just though it was a hilarious end to a fantastic day!
Thanks so much to Laura and Chris for choosing me as your Tithe Barn wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to photograph your day and meet such a lovely crowd of friends and family. A huge congratulations and all the best for your future lives together.
