This was a fabulous winter wedding at The Mansion in Leeds with Stephanie and Terry. The venue is a stunning grade II listed stately home set in the beautiful parkland setting of Roundhay Park. One might expect slightly dodgy weather at this time of year but did we see snow, rain, hail, wind or even dark clouds? Not in the slightest! We could not have been luckier with a gloriously sunny day from start to finish!
I met Stephanie and the bridesmaids at The Mansion in the morning. She was already prepped with hair and makeup, looking fabulous and ready to step into her dress. Once everyone was ready Stephanie and her Dad walked down The Mansion’s grand, sweeping staircase to the ceremony room to meet her groom-to-be. Terry looked very excited to see his bride and Stephanie looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle with her Dad in her Justin Alexander Signature dress.
The ceremony went without a hitch and the couple walked out to much applause followed by some serious confetti throwing. The perfect weather allowed for some group shots outdoors in front of the columns followed by a very eventful throwing of the bouquet. This had of course to be done a number of times to allow the pre-appointed bridesmaid to catch it! We then took a few minutes for a few portraits of the couple in the park and were so lucky to have such amazing light with the sunshine filtering through the trees. Fortunately the park was not too busy so we managed to dodge any crowds.
It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and I have to say I was very impressed with the beautiful elegant room decorations and table settings by My Something Borrowed and the magnificent cake by Poppy Pickering. The food (Dine) was also incredible and I have to thank Stephanie and Terry for arranging such a lovely meal for us on the day. The speeches went really well and its was soon time for the evening guests to arrive. We had the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance and soon everyone was up on the dance floor rocking the night away. The clear skies also held for us to do some evening shots in front of The Mansion at the end of the night.
All in all this was a fabulous winter wedding in a gorgeous venue and parkland setting. The weather could not have been better and it was a pleasure to photograph this day for such a lovely couple. Congratulations again Stephanie and Terry and all the best for your future lives together.
For other suppliers involved in this wedding please see the list at the bottom of the post. Thanks to my second shooter Megan and to the wedding coordinator Lewis for being so accommodating on the day.
